3 Keys to Starting Well

The beginning is the most important part of the work. - Plato

You must get started. There is no way around it. For the dream you have within you to one day be fulfilled, starting out on your journey is required.

The following are 3 Keys to Starting Well, that I hope can be an encouragement to you as you pursue that which you were ultimately created to do!

Key #1 - Start Over

Vitality shows not only in the ability to persist but the ability to start over. - F. Scott Fitzgerald

Distractions. Obstacles. Failure. There are many reasons why, in starting well, one might need to consider the idea of starting over.

But as difficult and humbling as beginning again may be, it is not near as difficult as living with the regret of a dream unfulfilled.

If you must start over…start over.

As the late Aaliyah once so beautifully sang, “If at first you don’t succeed then dust yourself off and try again.”

Key #2 - Start Small

Be not afraid of going slowly; be afraid only of standing still.
- Chinese Proverb

As you make the decision to start well, avoid the temptation to commit yourself to activities that you cannot sustain over a long period of time.

In the end, the fulfillment of your dream will come not as a result of major investments of your time made sporadically, but more as a result of simple disciplines executed day in and day out.

What is one habit that you can commit yourself to developing that will, over time, have the greatest impact on your dream becoming a reality?

Key #3 - Start Now!

So many fail because they don’t get started - they don’t go. They don’t overcome inertia. They don’t begin. - W. Clement Stone

Get to work…today!

The world is waiting for your masterpiece to be revealed! Though you may have much to do before your ultimate work is completed, there is no better day than today to get the process started!
